Dinner with the girls…Fillet Mignon served with a blueberry compote (and goat cheese. not shown here), Wild rice + Sauteed mushrooms and a tomato arugula salad with an excellent vinaigrette dressing my pal Elizabeth whipped up in a flash too quick for me to notice!
Shannon. Elizabeth and I made a wonderful meal together as Shannon read each of our moon signs.
We spoke about this huge moment of transition that we are all facing. the decisions we must make, choosing one thing over another. weighing options, surveying paths. trying to stay as close as we can to who we are but maintain an openness that gives life some room to come in. keep us inspired, motivated, passionate, alive and strong.
It felt wonderful to have friends to share that with. Women to share that with. learn from. draw from and add to.
It was also fascinating to see how astrology gives us another tool to understand ourselves and the people around us. I felt like something more was revealed about each of us. It is not like we are ever fully revealed to one another. but we were and are definitely closer in that knowing. through those topics that were thrown open after some reactions to the readings…through the emphasis placed on certain areas of our personality, through the connected interest we all had in discovering ourselves and each other….
closer to knowing. I like that.

MS. piGGY before her later transformation to tit pig…my roommate Michael and pal tHOMAAASSSS had fun with poor piggy. She didn’t seem to mind so much though, I think she was just happy that she didn’t have to display some type of  ham biting…Yup! we make her do that…I know…

the lovely parmesan and fig appetizers are really simple and rather TASTY! and by some kind of genius coincidence…THEY TASTE LIKE THEY ARE MADE OF HAM!!!!!-which is weirdly exciting to me…to piggy not so much!

Fig and Parmesan Crackers

iNGRIDIENTS: all depends on how many you want to make

Sesame crackers

Shaved Parmesan Cheese

3-4 Ripened Figs

2-3 tablespoons Quality Blackberry Preserves

Process:

Wash and cut figs into thin slices (cross-sectionally)

Place a few shavings on a cracker…why does that sound funny?

Place a thin fig slice on top of the Parmesan shavings

use the back of a teaspoon to make a small dent in the middle of the fig then place a tiny baby dollop of blackberry preserves in the dent

et voila`

So simple and the flavor is pretty great! had no idea what to expect when I made them! I just needed a relatively cheap appetizer to fill us before the meal and this was perfect!…Imagination rules!
